"Connect research with society, inspire future scientists and innovators, and contribute to a knowledge-based, sustainable future."
Faculty Profile
At UKF, science popularisation is an essential part of our mission to connect research with society, inspire future generations, and address real-world challenges. Our events and initiatives help make complex research accessible and engaging for all audiences — from school pupils and teachers to professionals and citizens
The Faculty of Natural Sciences and Informatics at Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra (UKF) is a dynamic centre of research, education and public engagement in STEM fields. Alongside its strong scientific performance in informatics, mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, ecology, environmental sciences, geography and related interdisciplinary areas, the faculty places significant emphasis on science popularisation and outreach activities.
Our researchers and teachers actively translate scientific knowledge into accessible formats for diverse audiences — from primary and secondary school pupils to educators, professionals and the wider public. Through public lectures, Science Café events, interactive physics shows, environmental awareness campaigns, programming workshops for youth, open days and participation in national science festivals, the faculty strengthens scientific literacy and fosters curiosity about the natural and digital world.
The faculty maintains close cooperation with schools, regional authorities, NGOs, cultural institutions and industry partners. It contributes to teacher training, develops innovative educational materials and supports initiatives that enhance digital and environmental competencies in society.
With experience in international cooperation projects, including Erasmus+ initiatives, the faculty is a reliable partner for strategic partnerships focused on STEM education innovation, science communication, sustainability awareness and digital skills development.

“Science popularisation expands the impact of scientific work beyond academia into society.”
