Our researches attended the 32nd International Cartographic Conference in Vancouver

During 17-22 August 2025, the project leader doc. RNDr. Matej Vojtek, PhD. and the team members doc. RNDr. Jana Vojteková, PhD. and RNDr. Gabriela Repaská, PhD. actively attended the 32nd International Cartographic Conference, which was held at the Vancouver Convention Center, Canada. It is a conference organized every two years by the International Cartographic Association, which hosted 743 registered attendees from 60 countries these days.

Our researchers presented the studies entitled “Fluvial flood inundation mapping: hydraulic versus GIS-based Height Above the Nearest Drainage model“ and “Spatial-statistical analysis of changes in social flood vulnerability at municipal level in Slovakia“ in poster sessions held on 19 August 2025. The presented posters were part of the project “Flood hazard mapping with the use of detailed geo-spatial data and hybrid approaches,” and they are linked mainly to the first and second work packages of this project. The authors of the presented posters also had the opportunity to attend many other oral and poster presentations and to discuss similar issues being researched in the project.

The conference abstracts of the presented posters are freely available at these weblinks:
