Leading Researcher Presented Project Results on the Conference “State of Geomorphological Research in 2026“

From 22 to 24 April 2026, the project leader, doc. RNDr. Matej Vojtek, PhD., actively participated in the international scientific conference “State of Geomorphological Research in 2026“, which was held on the premises of the Broumov Monastery, Czechia. The organization of the conference was carried out by the Institute of Rock Structure and Mechanics CAS, v.v.i., Protected Landscape Area Authority, and the Czech Association of Geomorphologists.

Doc. RNDr. Matej Vojtek, PhD. presented two posters. One of them was entitled “Modeling pluvial flood inundation using machine learning trained on detailed spatial data and hydraulically generated water depths: a case study “ and the other, entitled “GIS-based spatial assessment of pluvial flood hazard: a case study from Slovakia”, was co-presented with Mgr. Anna Borsíková, a PhD student under his supervision. Both posters were prepared as a part of the project “Flood hazard mapping with the use of detailed geo-spatial data and hybrid approaches“.

After the conference, the book of presented abstracts was published and is freely available
